Today was another proud day for SMASH Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, as our team competed at the AKA Open in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, showcasing the talent, skill, and dedication that have made us one of the most respected martial arts academies in the Northwest.
Kids Division – Building the Next Generation of Champions
Our youth athletes stepped onto the mats with confidence, discipline, and a competitive spirit that reflects the hard work they put in every week at SMASH BJJ. Many of our kids walked away with medals, but more importantly, they displayed great technique, focus, and sportsmanship—qualities we believe define a true champion.
These young competitors train under Professor Adam Smith, Spokane’s most trusted Jiu-Jitsu instructor, whose structured and engaging kids program continues to develop some of the strongest youth talent in the region.
Adult Division – Skill, Strategy, and Heart
Our adult competitors also delivered outstanding performances, demonstrating the high-level skill and tactical awareness that come from training in one of the Northwest’s top martial arts programs. From smooth guard passes to well-timed submissions, the results spoke for themselves—our team stood out for both technical mastery and competitive composure.
Why SMASH BJJ Continues to Lead the Way
